It’s our time to make you smile and Nanowar of Steel is exactly what we all need at the end of this chaotic year! If you haven’t heard about them, here’s a brief summary of the band: they are the kings of masterful heavy metal parodies! On December 4th they released their album Stairway To Valhalla on vinyl for the first time – we had an extremely fun chat with the band’s bassist, Gatto Panceri 666, and not just about the new vinyl. An old joke still deserves a song, so have fun!
Back in October, an interview request came from the press office of the world’s best bassist, Snow Owl. I was in shock, but of course, I was in it! Juan Garcia-Herreros was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award, he is currently working with Hans Zimmer, and is now off to pastures new. During our 20-minute conversation, we tried to touch upon every topic, yet it wasn’t a forced conversation, which was due to the bassist’s kind and friendly nature.
Ad Infinitum conjured a new spell, transforming their debut album, Chapter I: Monarchy into an enchanting acoustic reimagination. The quartet brought to life back in 2018 rapidly made its way straight into the hearts of the symphonic metal community and even beyond! Chapter I Revisited is a really special version of their first full-length, looks back on this successful path, and opens the gates for everything which is about to come. These ten acoustic songs carrying the listener on gentle wings into a dream-world of soothing acoustic soundscapes – we had the pleasured opportunity to talk about it with the guitarist, Adrian.
It’s not an easy year, but despite this Visions Of Atlantis continue their everlasting symphonic journey! The band released their first-ever live DVD & Blu-ray, “A Symphonic Journey To Remember”, which was recorded live at the last year’s Bang Your Head!!! Open Air Festival with the Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague. Before the DVD’s official release (October 30th, 2020) we had the opportunity to talk with Clémentine Delauney – she shared some behind the scenes secrets and also talked about the fate of her other project, Exit Eden.
Samer Elnahhal delivers his new funky industrial space metal melodies in his brand new album “Supernova Kill Road”. After departing from Lordi in 2019, where he played bass as “OX” for almost 14 years, he has been recording his album of funky industrial space metal, while he is also busy tapping that bass for Down South Junkies.
