We’ve just found a forward-thinking progressive metal band from Denmark: Cold Night For Alligators was founded in 2008. Since then they had a few lineup changes – the drummer of the band, Nikolaj introduced themselves and the band’s future plans.
From Ashes Reborn is a melodic death metal band from Germany. When I heard them for the first time, they immediately stole my heart. The melodic and heavy riffs, the killer vocals… all these stuff will bring you the other dimension. Their goal is making timeless and interesting music, develop their songwriting, and have fun to play metal either for themselves or for people who like it. Thomas, the drummer of From Ashes Reborn shared their story to us.
Well, if you like modern metal then you should definitely check out Disconnected from France. Their debut album, White Colossus is a really technical, melodic, rich and powerful piece of art. It was a no-brain thing to introduce them to you – meet the singer, Ivan, and Adrian, the lead guitarist of Disconnected.
Well, melodic metal bands usually come from Scandinavian countries – well, we found a gem from sunny California. “I noticed that there’s a huge difference in the popularity of sub-genres. For instance, in the United States, metalcore is extremely popular, meanwhile, in Europe, the metalcore scene isn’t so huge. It can be argued that melodic, symphonic, and power metal are way more popular in Europe, meanwhile, in America, those types of bands are not as popular. I like the fact that all over the world, there are a variety of sub-genres which are more popular than their counterparts, it just depends on where you go” – answered Casey Artus, the bassist of Levinia when we asked them about the differences between American and European metal. In 2016 Ghost Basterds’ singer Erik and their guitarist Sascha wanted to start a band. At that time their goal was to cover known mainstream songs and interpret them as metal. We had an opportunity to do an interview with the German band by e-mail – however, we don’t know exactly who answered our questions, but it seems that same spirited (Ghost – editor’s note) bands have their own tricks to cover up their identity.
