Areis (meaning “to raise” in ancient Occitan), is a band from Bagnols-sur-Cèze (France), in the Occitania region. Formed in 2019 by ex-members from Kombur and Right To The Void, the quartet takes inspiration in music genres such as hardcore, black metal, post-hardcore, and punk which they’ve blended, using dark, occult, and Occitanian-themed lyrics, into no-nonsense, gloomy music. Australia’s Victoria K released her debut album “Essentia” on April 24, 2020, via Rockshots Records. The full length was produced by Lee Bradshaw and features special guest Michalina Malisz (Eluveitie). The Melbourne singer/songwriter has made her mark on the rock and metal scene with the release of her debut single ‘Monster’ in 2016, featuring guitar work by Brett Garsed (John Farnham Band) along with her 2019 follow up track ‘Lacuna’ distributed in Australia and New Zealand by Warner Music Group (Australia) and is the lead single off the upcoming album.
The L.A. Maybe is a 6-piece rock n’ roll band hailing from the southern heat of the Carolinas. Formed in 2014, Cellar Twins debut their first sounds in 2017 with their debut self-titled EP and lead single & music video “My Shell”. The EP was the band’s stepping stone to greatness with its heavy rock riffs, soaring lead lines, deep lyrics and just all-around good time listen with its Belgian progressive, alternative rock flare.
Over the years, Cellar Twins have offered fans an intense journey into a unique universe where light and darkness, passion and rebellion all combine to showcase a multitude of musical horizons and assert itself as a new image of rock music. They have appeared on multiple Belgian festivals such as the Kraken Metal Festival, Bear Rock, and American Rock Festival plus have participated in Wacken Open Air’s Metal Battles. Var Var is a Russian gothic-metalcore band. Olga (vocals) and Vitalii (guitar) set off the band in March 2020. During the quarantine they were working on their music and the first song “Wolf Howl” was released in October 2020. Both musicians are very open-minded and enjoy almost all music genres, but Var Var’s music is mostly influenced by modern metalcore bands (Architects, Asking Alexandria, Bring Me the Horizon, Spiritbox, Ice Nine Kills) and gothic-emo bands of 2000’s (Evanescence, HIM, the Rasmus, Poets of the Fall, Within Temptation, My Chemical Romance, Skillet), so some of their songs tend to be very melodic with beautiful tender vocals and other songs are very groovy with heavy riffs and extreme vocals. The lyrics combine fairy tale settings with deep psychological and social issues. The songs raise questions about identity, life choices, bullying, emotional detachment.
