I recently had the pleasure of attending the King Satan concert in Helsinki, and let me tell you, it was a mind-bending journey into the depths of industrial metal madness. The show took me back to the band’s early days when I first met King Aleister Satan in 2018 for our inaugural video interview. Back then, they faced a modest crowd in Budapest, and I couldn’t help but feel they deserved so much more. Fast forward to November, and the evolution of King Satan is nothing short of spectacular.
The band’s resilience during the pandemic was evident, as they refused to let the chaos thwart their passion for live performances. As King Aleister Satan mentioned in our interview last year, they were gearing up to join industrial legends DIE KRUPPS for a European Tour in May 2022. Unfortunately, the tour was canceled, but that didn’t stop King Satan. Now, after overcoming various challenges, they are back on the road, and if you’re a fan of industrial metal, you do not want to miss them.
The growth of the band is palpable, with confidence exuding from every riff and beat. The costumes and show elements are now more intentional, creating an immersive experience for the audience. A standout transformation is seen in the keyboardist and vocalist, Kate, whose vocals have reached new heights, momentarily crowning her the Queen of the show.
In a post-concert interview with the enigmatic frontman, King Aleister Satan, I delved into the depths of their recent European tour:
MyTouché Blog: How did the tour go?
King Aleister Satan: I’ve been home only for a few days after the tour, and I am still processing it all. But, in general, the tour was absolutely amazing! After a couple of years of cancellations, it tasted so good to be back on the road again. We embraced it fully because we learned not to take these opportunities for granted. Audiences were amazing, and some countries were visited for the first time ever. We joined Deathstars and Priest for their Finnish shows before supporting Gothminister in the rest of Europe. It was mind-blowing, and we developed a lot as a band during these weeks.
MyTouché Blog: How was it touring across Europe again?
King Aleister Satan: I love traveling and performing live, so these two passions combined mean the world to me. This was our first nightliner tour for King Satan, providing a great new experience with more time to explore cities.
MyTouché Blog: Which was your favorite show and why?
King Aleister Satan: This is a difficult question because audiences were amazing everywhere. I’ll have to say Birmingham, though, because of its significance in the history of heavy metal. It felt like a truly big moment for me.
MyTouché Blog: Your plans for the next year!
King Aleister Satan: We will finish our 4th album and start planning shows for 2024. Stay tuned for more!
As King Satan continues to conquer stages and evolve, it’s evident that this is just the beginning for them. Here’s to the relentless pursuit of sonic darkness and a future filled with metal mayhem.
